Erin O'Toole joined Solar Oysters in 2024 as our new SOPS Technician and team aquaculturist. Erin oversees and maintains our Solar Oysters Production System (SOPS) and the oysters it carries. She also collects oyster growth data, assists in educational outreach, and helps promote our mission.
Before working for Solar Oysters, Erin attended the University of Rhode Island and worked at Matunuck oyster farm and bar, producing oysters for the Rhode Island market. In May 2024 she graduated with a degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Science. While working with Solar Oysters, Erin will also be working on the hatchery and restoration team at Hooper’s Island Oyster Company (HIOC). HIOC is the North American distributor of SOPS. Erin enjoys spending time at the beach, tending to her house plants and cheering on any and all New England sports teams! |
